Choose the affirmation which appeals to you the most and wave it over the situation which confronts you.

It is your magic wand, for your word is God in action.

Choose the affirmation which appeals to you the most and wave it over the situation which confronts you.

“It shall not return unto me void but shall accomplish that whereunto it is sent.” (Isaiah 55-11.)

“But I say, have they not heard? Yes, verily, their sound went into all the earth and their words unto the end of the world.” (Romans 10-18.)

In brief

The spoken word is God in action, and so it works as a magic wand in the hand of whoever speaks it. Read the summaryHide the summary

The spoken word is God in action, and so it works as a magic wand in the hand of whoever speaks it. Shinn closes the book with a single instruction: from all the affirmations given, choose the one that appeals to you most and wave it over whatever situation confronts you. She seals the instruction with two scriptural assurances. Isaiah promises that the word shall not return void but shall accomplish that whereunto it is sent, and Romans affirms that true words go out into all the earth and unto the end of the world.

Key ideas

  • Shinn asks for one chosen affirmation, the one that speaks most strongly to you, rather than a whole collection.
  • The word is God in action, and that is why it acts as a magic wand.
  • The affirmation is applied directly, waved over the particular situation at hand.
  • A word sent forth never returns void; it accomplishes the purpose it was sent to do.
  • The sound of the true word reaches into all the earth and to the end of the world.
